J'mpok was a male Klingon who lived during the 25th century. He served as Chancellor of the Klingon High Council as of 2409.[1]
Starfleet Admiral Jorel Quinn believed B'vat felt that "J'mpok and the High Council [were] being too complacent," attributing that to why B'vat was using such "inane" battle tactics in the war against the Federation.[2]
Biography[]
J'mpok took over as Chancellor of the Klingon High Council in 2393, succeeding Martok. He was less loyal to the Federation than Martok, which grew increasingly obvious as the alliance between the Klingon Empire and the Federation began to break down through the 2390s.
In 2399, J'mpok withdrew from the Khitomer Accords after being condemned by the Federation Council for invading Gorn space. Late in 2404, after the end of the Klingon-Gorn War, J'mpok gave Federation citizens in several sectors bordering Klingon space a three-month ultimatum to evacuate. When Federation President Aennik Okeg refused to heed the ultimatum, J'mpok initiated an invasion of the Korvat system, which began the Federation-Klingon War.[3]
