Marta[1] was a female Orion who lived during the 25th century.[2] She was a slave girl who worked for the House of Urthog[1] and commanded her own vessel[2] until 2409, when she betrayed her master and sought asylum with the Federation. In exchange for her guaranteed safety, she promised to divulge sensitive information about the Klingon Empire to Starfleet Intelligence.[1]
Biography[]
On 3 February 2409 (83180.5), Marta confronted the USS Leviathan after its crew put a stop to the Orion Syndicate's sabotage operation on the SS Azura. She threatened the Leviathan's captain, Jason Fredricks, but he successfully bluffed her into thinking Starfleet reinforcements were coming. Believing herself to be bested, Marta and her vessel left without further incident.[2]
In 2409, she began to grow tired of serving her master, Urthog, and she fled to the Treasure Trading Station. She had planned to take "valuable" information to Starfleet Intelligence, but Urthog had paid off the station administrator, Qaris, to hold her there until he arrived. The Leviathan was sent to retrieve her, ultimately succeeding and defeating Urthog. She revealed that her former master was an underling of B'vat.[1]
