Nia Gates,[1] derogatorily referred to as "Ensign Nobody", was a female Human who lived during the 24th century. She served in Starfleet as a flight control officer on the USS Enterprise-D during the 2360s. She was temporarily removed from her post after back-talking to Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Biography[]
In the 2360s, she was serving aboard the USS Enterprise-D as a helmsman. She informed Captain Jean-Luc Picard that they had entered the uncharted system they were sent to investigate, to which he responded by calling her "Ensign Nobody." She informed him that she did, in fact, have a name, but was interrupted by Worf, who told her not to speak to Picard without being first spoken to. She believed they were acting like tyrants, inciting Picard to have Worf escort her off the bridge.[2]
