Solak was a male Vulcan who lived during the 24th century. He was friends with Dylyp Azeli's father.
When Dylyp's pet hybor was killed by a predator, he locked himself in his chamber for nearly four days. Solak then performed a mind meld with the boy, calming his tumultuous mind. Afterward, Dylyp asked Solak to teach him about logic, and he nearly ended up performing the kolinahr, a rite for purging all emotion. In the end, Dylyp did not undergo the kolinahr, for fear that he would no longer experience "such emotions as love or sympathy or joy."[1]
