- "The Hunt Continues" is the second chapter of the first volume of Lego Star Trek, written sometime in 2010 by CaptFredricks.
Captain's log, stardate 57823.6. We've engaged the Klingon vessel IKS Pak'tu and have taken heavy damage. We are attempting to...
The USS Enterprise-E and the Pak'tu are engaged in battle. Geordi La Forge informs Captain Jean-Luc Picard that the ship can't sustain much more damage. Kardok then transports onto the bridge, announcing that he is their "worst nightmare."
Act One Edit
Captain's log, stardate 57823.6. We've stopped at Starbase 83 to pick up some new crew members and we have a new lead as to the whereabouts of the Klingon vessel identified as the IKS Pak'tu. Several months ago we had an encounter with this same vessel which left the Enterprise with some damage and, unfortunately, casualties. Out mission is to find the renegade vessel, stop it, and find out all we can about the secret society that we believe is planning to destroy the Federation.
Picard enters sickbay to see how Dr. Beverly Crusher is doing. She tells him that she's fine but is in need of a larger medical staff. Picard tells her that while most other doctors have been assigned elsewhere, he's glad that she is still with him on the Enterprise. He adds that she can use the EMH if she needs to, but she is reluctant to do so unless she has no other choice. Geordi then contacts Picard, telling him that they may have found something relating to the Pak'tu.
On the bridge, John Benson and Geordi have found a warp trail possibly belonging to the Pak'tu. Picard senses some measure of doubt in Geordi's tone, and tells him that speculation is "not good enough." Geordi then tells him that he'll continue his investigations. Picard enters the ready room, with Benson following him in. Benson asks how they will know if the ship they are tracking is even the correct one, and if they will lead them to the person behind the conspiracy. Picard replies that he's asked himself the same question, inadvertently referring to Benson as "number one." Picard further explains that he used to call Will Riker "number one," and that Benson would likely hear himself called that in the future. Benson then notices B-4 sitting in the corner. He asks if he's started to recall any of Data's memories, but Picard regrets that he has remembered very little.
Act Two Edit
After several hours of waiting, a Klingon vessel decloaks. Benson asks Worf to identify them, and Worf confirms that it is the Pak'tu. Picard tells Worf to hail them, trying to explain to the Klingons that he only wishes to talk, but they do not respond. Gibson then alerts them that the Pak'tu is charging its weapons. Picard quickly tells Worf to arm their weapons. The ships exchange fire for a few moments until the Klingons cloak once more. A few moments later, they decloak almost on top of the Enterprise, catching them off guard. Gibson's console explodes in his face, but he is uninjured. The Enterprise retaliates, severely damaging the Pak'tu. The Klingons are forced to retreat.
Act Three Edit
Captain's log supplemental, we have engaged the Klingon vessel Pak'tu, and have taken heavy damage. We are attempting to do some minor repairs for the next confrontation.
Kardok and several Klingon officers materialize on the Enterprise's bridge. Picard asks who they are, and Kardok replies, "Your worst nightmare." Kardok tries to shoot him, but Picard dodges and shoots one of the Klingons. Jordan and Gibson engage the Klingons, and one flings Jordan across the room; Gibson is stabbed by another Klingon. Geordi is grabbed by one of the Klingons, and Kardok corners Benson, choking him. Picard tries to fight off two of them, but hope of victory is quickly fading until B-4 emerges from the ready room. He grabs Kardok and throws him across the bridge, and then begins terrorizing the rest of Kardok's men. B-4 herds them into the corner, and Picard thanks him. The Klingons hastily transport back to the Pak'tu, and Picard orders Worf to disable it. Worf fires on the Pak'tu, and it explodes. The Klingons are now defeated, but many questions are still unanswered.
Admiral Perry is at his desk. His aide informs him that he has a message addressed to him, and Perry takes it in his office. X is on the other side; he tells Perry that "the time has come." He answers him saying, "Yes, my lord."

"Captain's log, stardate 57823.6. We've engaged the Klingon vessel Pak'tu and have taken heavy damage. We are attempting to..."
There is an explosion.
La Forge: Captain, the ship can’t take much more of this!
Kardok beams over.
Picard: Who are you?
Kardok: Your worst nightmare.
"Captain's log, stardate 57823.6. Our mission is to find the renegade vessel, stop it, and find out all we can about the secret society that we believe is planning to destroy the Federation."
Picard enters sickbay.
Dr. Crusher: Oh, Jean-Luc.
Picard: Hello, Beverly.
Dr. Crusher: What may I do for you?
Picard: Nothing. I just wanted to see how you were doing.
Dr. Crusher: I'm alright, but I wish I had a larger medical staff.
Picard: Well, most of the doctors have been assigned to other places. I'm just glad we still have you.
Dr. Crusher: Oh, Jean-Luc.
Picard: And you know you can use the EMH if necessary.
Dr. Crusher: Yes, I know, though I don't want to, but if I must...
La Forge comes over the comm.
La Forge: Captain?
Picard: Yes, mister La Forge?
La Forge: Could you come up here sir? We think we may have found something.
Picard: On my way. See you later, Beverly.
Dr. Crusher: Alright.
Benson and La Forge are sitting at one of the bridge stations.
Benson: Captain, take a look at this.
Picard: What is it?
Benson: It appears to be a warp trail.
La Forge: That's not all captain, it's got a Klingon signature.
Benson: Yep, Klingon.
Picard: Mr. La Forge, could it be the ship we're looking for?
La Forge: Could be.
Picard: I'm afraid that's not good enough.
La Forge: I'll keep investigating.
Picard: Good, I'll be in my ready room.
Benson follows him to his ready room.
Benson: I was thinking, what if this Klingon ship is a dead end? I mean, how do we know that they will lead us to the person behind this conspiracy?
Picard: I've asked myself that question many times, number one.
Benson: Number one?
Picard: Oh, that's what I called commander Riker. I got so used to him being my first officer, I said it to you.
Benson: Well, I don't mind.
Picard: Good. Because you will probably hear me call you that many times in the future.
Benson notices B-4 sitting in a chair.
Benson: Is that the android?
Picard: Yes. Data gave him all of his memories before he was killed.
Benson: Does he remember anything?
Picard: He has been able to recall some recent memories, but not much.
Several hours pass and there is nothing out of the ordinary. Then out of nowhere, a ship starts to decloak.
"Sir, Klingon vessel decloaking off the port bow," announces Worf.
"On screen," replies Picard.
"Mr. Worf, can you identify them?" asks Benson.
"Bird of prey, IKS Pak'tu." Worf responds.
"Hail them," Picard orders.
"Sir?" Worf questions.
Picard gazes at worf with a look he knows.
"Klingon vessel Pak'tu. We are not here to fight you. We just want to talk."
"No response." Worf comments.
"This doesn't feel right." Benson adds.
Something starts to beep on the control panel.
"Sir, they're powering up weapons!" exclaims Gibson.
"Shields up, battle stations!" Benson orders.
"Mr. Worf, ready quantum torpedoes," says Picard. "Arm phaser banks."
"Phasers armed, torpedoes ready."
The Klingons fire weapons.
"Brace for impact!" Picard yells.
The ship is hit with little damage.
"Aye sir," replies worf.
After some exchange of weapons fire, the Klingons recloak.
"Now what?" Benson asks.
"Now, we wait," answers Picard.
After a few minutes of staring at the viewscreen, the Pak'tu decloaks right in front of the Enterprise.
"Evasive maneuvers," Picard orders.
The Klingons fire on the Enterprise.
"AHHHHHHH!" Gibson yells as his control panel explodes in front of him. He appears to be uninjured.
The Enterprise returns fire, severely damaging the Pak'tu. The Klingons again have to retreat.
"Captain's log supplemental, we have engaged the Klingon vessel Pak'tu, and have taken heavy damage. We are attempting to do some minor repairs for the next confrontation."
Suddenly, Kardok and crew materialize on the bridge of the Enterprise.
"Who are you?" Picard asks their captain.
Kardok grins and replies, "Your worst nightmare."
He draws his disruptor, and tries to shoot the captain. Picard dodges the gunfire and manages to shoot one of the Klingons. Jordan and Gibson attack the Klingons from behind, and one throws Jordan across the room.
"AHHHHHH!" he yells.
Gibson shoots one but is stabbed by another. Kardok focuses on Picard and Benson. Suddenly, La Forge is grabbed from behind by one to the Klingons. He tries to escape, but to no avail. Kardok runs after Benson and corners him. He grabs him by the neck and starts to choke him. Picard is knocked down by one of Kardok's men. Picard tries to fend off two of them who put up quite a fight. Just when all seems to be lost, B-4 suddenly emerges from Picard's ready-room and seeing his crewmates in danger grabs Kardok. Kardok tries to break free to no avail. B-4 throws him across the room. He starts after the other klingons, terrorizing he others. Picard and the others look in amazement as he easily takes care of the Klingons. He gets them all in one corner as Picard walks over.
"Thank you," Picard says to the android.
"You are welcome, captain," B-4 says in his innocent tone.
Picard then turns to the Klingons, who are all of a sudden transported off the ship. "Worf, quickly, disable their engines!" Picard exclaims.
Worf fires torpedoes at the Klingon vessel. The crew watches as it explodes.
"Yes!" Jordan exclaims quietly.
"Medical team to the bridge." Picard orders.
They have now defeated the Klingons, but there are still many unanswered questions remaining.
Admiral Perry is sitting at his desk.
Perry's aid: Admiral Perry. There's a message coming in, it's for you.
Perry: Put it through to my office. Hello?
X: Mr. Perry, the time has come.
Perry: Yes, my lord.
