Hey, all! CaptFredricks here!

Today I'd like to talk about episode pages. The episode pages are obviously play a pivotal role here on the wiki, and as such, they should be complete and up-to-date. Sadly, I can't keep up with them alone, so I'm hoping some others can help out with this. I will lay the groundwork with a few steps to making a good episode article.

Take "The Price of Liberty", for example. It is by far the most complete of all the episode pages on the wiki.

  1. Top area - This part may not seem that important, as it's just a couple introductory sentences accompanied by a sidebar, right? Wrong. It is the first part of the article that people will see, so it needs to be done correctly. If you're not sure all the fields that can be used in the sidebar, go to {{Sidebar episode}}. Now, most of the pages are complete in this area, so only fix something that is obviously wrong.
  2. Synopsis - This area is a long summary of the story. On most of the pages, there is little or no summary at all, so this area needs a lot of work. Make sure you read or have read the story before adding to this.
  3. Memorable Quotes - A list of the more memorable quotes from the episode. The opinion of what comprises a "memorable" quote will vary from person to person, but filling this part up would be nice. Once again, make sure you read or have read the story before adding to this.
  4. References - Unlike on normal articles (e.g. character pages, ship pages, etc.) where references have a collective list (reflist) of episode references, this contains a list of all characters, starships and locations in the given episode. Make sure you use <div class="appear"> for the lists.
  5. Background - Finally, this area is reserved for special background notes and such that doesn't fit anywhere else. This can include notes about how or when the episode was written, the origin of some of the characters, etc. It also includes the "external links" section, which normally links to where the episode is published on fanfiction.net. I am also in the process of linking to the counterpart articles on Memory Gamma.

I guess that's it for now. Happy editing! :)
